The microlipo procedure is performed under local anesthesia. The plastic surgeon, using an injectable method, places a solution containing a local anesthetic into the area of the procedure. In addition to the desired numbness of the area, this solution also causes the fat cells to swell, making their removal easier. Subsequently, a small incision is made, through which a thin cannula is inserted, and the fat is removed. Finally, the treated area is bandaged to reduce swelling, and the incision does not require stitches .

The discomfort caused by the minor swelling can be managed with simple painkillers . For the first 2 days , intense physical activity should be avoided . Approximately 2 weeks after the procedure, a follow-up appointment with the plastic surgeon should be scheduled to assess your progress .
